jumping on the DIY bandwagon

Dare to brave theknot.com's forums for creative ideas to ask your bridesmaids, and you'll likely get the response, "Um. Just ask them." I hate this answer. Obviously, the asker is aware of this option, but the asker happens to be a right-brained, think-outside-the-box type in desperate need of a project. But I'm just speaking in hypotheticals...

Anyway, my first wedding project was this little bouquet/booklet combo. I sent them to my two bridesmaids and they loved them. I like to think this left a little more of an impact on them than "just asking".

I designed these little booklets in photoshop (each page was half of a letter sized piece of paper)and printed them at the FedEx/Kinko's store. The rubber gloves ($0.99 for 2 pairs) and feather dusters ($1) are from Wal Mart. Major props to Google for helping me learn how to tie a bow!

If you couldn't tell, the "theme" of the booklet was Top 5 Reasons You Should be My Bridesmaid. Reasons 5, 4, and 3 were inside jokes complete with pictures. Reason 2 was a picture of each girl's head photoshopped onto an ugly bridesmaid dress. And reason 1 was a personal note.
